Country House Hideout
We definitely can boast an exclusive "first" on this activity in the UK. The concept, inspired by the age of the Great Explorers, has been developed by a Dutch company and is due to be launched in spring 2010. The idea is to be self sufficient and discover the natural world around.
Guests arrive at a Country House Estate deep in the English Countryside. They get out of their cars, put their case in a wheelbarrow and start walking! Deep in the woodland they find a luxury tent complete with little extras that Livingstone and Stanley would have wanted - proper bathtub, outside cooking cart, free standing barbeque (and a generator!).
Inside their tent are microscopes, field telephones, gramophone and heating stove. To make a cuppa - first light your fire! Be warned if you run out of electricity the generator is linked to a bicycle... so it's 'on your bike' and get peddling.
