The Wallace Collection
2010 will see the unveiling of the Boudoir Cabinet, a treasure trove of sparkling gold boxes and miniatures, and the new Venetian galleries.
Clients can take advantage of the luxurious surroundings of these new spaces and the rest of the galleries on the first floor for evening events. Decorated with opulent French silk wall coverings and upholstery and displaying treasures belonging to Marie Antoinette and Madame de Pompadour, these rooms provide a glamorous backdrop for a drinks reception.
The Wallace Collection is thrilled to be hosting the new exhibition Beauty and Power: Renaissance and Baroque Bronzes from the Collection of Peter Marino (29 April 25 July 2010).
Peter Marino is one of the world’s leading architects and most influential collectors. The thirty French and Italian sculptures, which form this exhibition, reflect the range of human experience, from Samson and the Philistine, attributed to Baccio Bandinelli, to Antonio Montauti's seductive Diana. A private view of this exhibition can be arranged to accompany your event. As well as marvelling at the beauty and flamboyant artistry, guests will be entranced by their journey through mythological stories and historical events.
