New Chinese Routes for U.S. Carriers

 26 Sep 2007

USA - China flagsUnited Airlines will be the first U.S. carrier to fly to Guangzhou commencing in 2008. The flight will operate from San Francisco. Delta has also been awarded the rights to fly from Atlanta to Shanghai, the first carrier to operate the route.

These announcements are as a result of an agreement signed in July between the U.S. and Chinese governments, to double the number of daily flights between the USA and China over the next 5 years.

By increasing competition and allowing for more flight options, it is expected to lower fares and increase convenience for both business and leisure passengers.
