BUDAPEST ART'OTEL - 4*
The Art'otel is located on the Buda side of the Danube river. The hotel has a very special atmosphere as it was designed by an American contemporary artist. The hotel has rooms overlooking the Danube River and the World Heritage Site Castle District.

The hotel is situated in the heart of the historic Castle District. It has preserved the spirit of the Castle District incorporating a 13th century Dominican Churchyard and cloister into the contemporary building.
1. Budapest Sightseeing Tour
The city has two parts divided by the River Danube. The Buda side is hilly and is mainly a residential area. Its nicest part is the Castle District with the Royal Palace, Fishermen's Bastion, Matthias Church and more highlights. The other side, Pest, is flat and is the centre of business, culture and shopping.
Your tour will include the Main Market Hall, the National Museum and Europe's largest Synagogue, the Heroes' Square. After that you will drive up Andrássy Avenue, one of the nicest avenues of Budapest with many sights such as the Opera House, the Ballet Institute, etc. Following that you will pass by the St. Stephen's Basilica and the Parliament Building.
The trip on the Buda side entails a drive up to the Castle district, highlights will be Fishermen's Bastion and Matthias Church. The last stop of the tour is the Citadel on top of the Gellért Hill, where guests have the most beautiful view over the capital of Hungary.
2. A visit to State Opera House
Budapest is proud of possessing one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world. At the entrance the statues of Ferenc Liszt and Ferenc Erkel, outstanding contributors to Hungary's musical life, can be seen on either side. Gustav Mahler was a director for several years, and Puccini directed the premiere of two of his operas in this magnificent opera house.
3. Thermal Bath Programme and Lunch In The Robinson Restaurant
As Budapest is famous for its thermal springs and baths. The city has about 120 thermal springs and several beautiful baths. The Szechenyi Bath, which is the biggest and one of the most beautiful baths in Budapest is a must to visit.
A delicious lunch can follow in one of the best located restaurants of Budapest, The Robinson. This is situtated beside an artifical lake, overlooking the spectacular Vajdahunyad Castle.

4. A Walking Tour of the Castle District
The Castle District is located on the Buda side of the town, and it is part of UNESCO World Heritage sites. Guests can start at the bottom of the Castle Hill from where they can take the Funicular to get to the summit.
Apart from some stately town houses, most of the buildings are simple plastered burgher's houses.
The walls of the Castle are well preserved almost everywhere. The Gothic palace was totally demolished in the 16-17th century and the 'new' one started in the 18th century. The Palace commands a magnificent view over the River Danube.
5. Visit the "Hospital in the Rock" beneath the Buda Castle
The former top secret Military Hospital and Atomic Bunker beneath the Buda Castle is now open to the public. The tour includes parts that were built and extensively used during the Second World War. It was also used in 1956 Hungarian Revolution as an operational hospital.
6. Shopping at The Main Market Hall and Cooking Course at Chefparade
The Main Market Hall really has to be visited. Visitors can enjoy a salami tasting in the Hall followed by lunch at the Gerbeaud House. Alternatively, after the shopping trip guests can enjoy a fun cooking course where they will learn to cook some tasty Hungarian specialities.
7. The Gerbeaud Café
The Café is situated in the heart of Budapest. The 140 year old café of European-wide fame, guards loyally the traditions and atmosphere of old. Ferenc Liszt was a regular patron.
8. Hungarian Instrument Show
After lunch guests can enjoy a lively performance in which talented Hungarian Gipsy Musicians introduce Hungarian instruments and play traditional music. Folk dance couples also entertain the guests. After the performance dancers teach a Hungarian dance to willing participants.
9. Hungaroring Adventure Park - Nissan Outdoor Challenge
The 36 acres of forest with its 22 km long road-system, embraced by Hungaroring racing track, is an ideal place for this programme. A hi-tech rope technique track, quad-biking, land rover and pedestrian tracks cross each other in the primeval forest. There are opportunities to try out Gehl mini-loaders and Manitou fork-lifters as well.
10. Gala Dinner Venue options
The Gundel is the most famous Hungarian restaurant. The restaurant was founded in 1894, in the beautiful City Park of Pest, and it soon became the gathering place of artists, writers, and actors. The discreet sound of Hungary's foremost gypsy orchestra is the perfect background to Gundel's classic cuisine.
Queen Elisabeth Ballroom
The room, decorated in the Rococo style, with gilded stucco work and elegant white walls bears the name of the Empress Queen Elisabeth, the late wife of Franz Joseph. The venue is suitable for gala dinners as well as conferences, symposia and business meetings.
Andrássy Room
Andrássy Room adjoins the Queen Elisabeth Ballroom, recalling the belle époc of old Budapest.
Ervin Szabó Library - Wenckheim Palace
This is a beautiful baroque style palace, and its ballroom offers a very unique and special venue for gala events.
11. Entertainment - Lugosi Gipsy Band
The Lugosi Gipsy Band is one of the most famous bands in Hungary. Their repertory includes traditional Hungarian and Gipsy folk music as well as pieces of Brahms, Kodály, Bartók and Liszt.
12. Shopping
Budapest's magical Christmas Market usually opens on the last weekend of November.
