The ideal way to start your stay in 'Wonderful Copenhagen' this tour provides an overview of the city's layout and many sights. Transfer by coach from your hotel to the heart of the city: Town Hall Square.
From here the city branches out, by way of Strøget, the famous kilometre-long pedestrian shopping street.

Continue down Hans Christian Andersen's Boulevard, running alongside Tivoli Gardens and New Carlsberg Glyptothek, before passing The National Museum and heading for Christiansborg Castle, seat of the Danish parliament, set amidst picturesque canals and the harbour front.
The beautiful 17th century Stock Exchange and The Naval Church, is a setting for numerous Royal events, en route to Kongens Nytorv ('The King's New Square') - home of The Royal Danish Ballet. Drive slowly along Nyhavn ('New Harbour') and enjoy the old colourful warehouses, once renowned by sailors for its roaring taverns and nightlife, nowadays populated by the more up-market restaurants and bars.
Next, you will pass the residence of Queen Margrethe II, Amalienborg Palace, before catching a glimpse of the stunning Gefion Fountain and Copenhagen's most famous statue - The Little Mermaid. The tour continues towards the Renaissance castle, Rosenborg before entering the old university area, also called the Latin Quarters of Copenhagen, with The Round Tower presiding over the narrow, winding cobbled streets.
An additional feature would be to visit the splendid Royal Reception Rooms at Christiansborg Castle and the abundant treasury of Rosenborg Castle, boasting the Crown Jewels. (Add 1-2 hours)
Also, extra sparkle can be added to the tour by arranging for divers to be in the water near The Little Mermaid and emerge with champagne for the guests, as they disembark the coach. (Add 1 hour)
The tour may be combined with a canal cruise, ending with lunch in a restaurant near The Little Mermaid. |
