 2 Feb 2010

IberiaAs of 1 March 2010, Iberia is adopting the following new checked baggage policy on all their routes:

  • Long-haul flights
Holders of the cheapest economy class fares may check-in 1 piece of up to 23 kg instead of the two currently permitted. Passengers with fares in Full Economy (Y), Excursion (B) or with Corporate Fares, will keep the allowance of 2 pieces of up to 23 kg, each and the allowance of 3 pieces of up to 23 kg each for passengers with Business fares remains unchanged.

  • Short and medium haul
In economy class, the allowance of 23 kg of checked baggage will remain the same, although only one piece will be permitted. Additional pieces will incur the relevant excess baggage charge. Those travelling in Business class will have their allowance increased from the current 30 kgs to 2 pieces of up to 23 kg each.

  • In all cases, holders of Iberia Plus Platinum, Gold and Silver cards, as well as Club Fiesta, can check in an additional piece over and above the allowance.
