United unveils Heathrow T2 lounges

 11 Apr 2014

United Airlines unveils its two lounges for premium customers at London Heathrow Terminal 2.

The United Global First Lounge and the United Club occupy a combined 2,043 sqm of space and are located near the airline's gates in T2's satellite concourse.

Both facilities feature floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the airfield, luxurious decor and vintage aviation-themed artwork. Both will offer complimentary food, drinks - including alcohol - and Wi-Fi.

Seating areas and furnishings are conducive to either relaxing or getting work done, with abundant power outlets.

The United Global First Lounge is for First class passengers travelling with any Star Alliance carrier.

Features include an oversized Big Ben-style clock in its tea lounge section, a buffet area, a wine room, private phone booths and a quiet zone with sofas and privacy drapes.

The United Club lounge is for Star Alliance passengers travelling in Business class and is the first facility outside the US to feature the new United Club design.

It has an open layout and can seat more than 280 guests. Its features include a 25-seat full service bar, the longest bar at Heathrow, two buffet areas, a TV lounge and seven private phone booths.

Next to the United Club are eight shower suites for the use of customers using either the Global First Lounge or the United Club, offering complimentary toiletries and valet service with garment pressing and steaming.
