Public sector workers in Germany are taking industrial action on Thursday 27 March 2014. This includes airport ground staff and baggage handlers at all airports except Berlin.
All British Airways flights to Germany are scheduled to operate as planned.
These strikes have the potential to disrupt BA's departure operation at Frankfurt and Munich airports, as such all flights from Frankfurt and Munich will only be able to accept hand baggage.
British Airways are currently planning to operate a normal schedule from Dusseldorf, Hanover, Hamburg and Stuttgart, however these services may be subject to change.
Passengers are advised to check the status of their BA flight before leaving for the airport.
Lufthansa has announced that as a result of the industrial action it is cancelling “almost all domestic and European flights” scheduled before 2pm at both Frankfurt and Munich airports. It also expects its bases in Cologne, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover and Stuttgart to face “significant” disruptions.
Lufthansa has advised passengers expecting to travel on Thursday to visit Lufthansa.com and check the status of their flight before leaving for the airport.
