Finnair is to install new fully-flat seats in business class on its long-haul aircraft from January.
The Oneworld member said that the installation programme would be completed by autumn 2014 when all of Finnair’s Airbus long-haul aircraft will feature the new seats except for the three oldest aircraft which are due to be retired in 2015.
Finnair is using Zodiac Seats UK Vantage seats, which are already installed on the airline’s four newest Airbus A330s. The seats can be adjusted to create a fully-flat bed of up to 200 cm while shoulder room will be 58 cm.
Finnair currently has 15 Airbus A330s and A340s in its long-haul fleet which fly to 13 destinations in Asia. It has also ordered 11 Airbus A350s which will begin arriving in the second half of 2015 as Finnair targets a doubling of sales revenue to Asian cities by 2020.
