Easyjet to fly new routes to Brussels and Strasbourg

 19 Nov 2013

EasyjetEasyjet is to launch two new routes from Gatwick to the key business destinations of Brussels and Strasbourg from spring 2014.

The no-frills carrier plans to use the Gatwick slots purchased from Flybe to operate the two new services which will start on 30 March 2013.

Easyjet, which is Gatwick’s largest airline, has already announced new services to Jersey, Paris and Newcastle for next year. It will operate 107 routes from the airport from next summer.

Flights to Brussels will operate twice daily while the Strasbourg service will run four times per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Buying the 25 Flybe slots at Gatwick will allow Easyjet to fly an estimated extra 1.3 million passengers per year from the Sussex airport from March 2014 the airline said that around 300,000 (23 per cent) of these passengers were expected to be business travellers.
