Singapore Airlines to increase baggage allowances

Singapore AirlinesSingapore Airlines is increasing its check-in baggage allowance on all SIA and Silk Air flights from 15 November 2013.

The weight limit will increase by 10 kg for all classes of travel. Customers flying in suites (available on the A380 superjumbo only) and first class, therefore, will be entitled to 50 kg of check-in baggage, while business and economy class passengers can bring 40 kg and 30 kg onboard respectively.

For flights to and from the US, where a per-piece allowance applies, customers travelling in suites, first and business class are allowed to check in two pieces of luggage of up to 32 kg each, up from 23 kg previously. Meanwhile, economy passengers have an allowance of two bags at 23 kg each.
