Budget hotel chain Travelodge is to spend £41.5 million on building six new hotels in the UK.
The budget hotel chain will build two properties in the London suburbs of Greenwich and Raynes Park, as well as Glasgow, Southampton, Ryde on the Isle of Wight, and Winnersh in Berkshire.
The six new properties will boost Travelodge’s portfolio to 517 hotels and 38,359 rooms when they open during 2014. The two London hotels will help the company to maintain its position as the UK capital’s biggest hotel brand with 62 properties.
The first hotel to open will be Ryde in April 2014, followed by Glasgow and Southampton in July 2014, then Greenwich and Raynes Park (both September), and finally Winnersh in December 2014.
