United Airlines has launched its first-ever flights to Edinburgh with a summer-season service through to 5 October.
The summer seasonal route connects Edinburgh directly with United's hub at Chicago O'Hare International airport.
Operated by a Boeing 757-200, it begins as a five-weekly service until 12 June, when it will switch to a daily service and then, on 2 September, it will run four times weekly until it closes on 5 October.
The aircraft will have 169 seats 16 flat-bed in United BusinessFirst and 153 in United Economy, including 45 Economy Plus seats with added legroom and increased personal space.
The new flights will depart Chicago at 18:00, arriving in Edinburgh at 07:45 the following day. The return service will depart Edinburgh at 10:25, arriving in Chicago at 13:00 on the same day.
