SAS Group Airlines has announced today that it will not implement the Optional Payment Charge (OPC) as earlier communicated.
The decision applies to all SAS markets.
1 September 2012
The SAS Group Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines System, Blue1 and Wideröes Flyveselskap AS, have decided to introduce a credit card fee for travellers using a credit card as form of payment.
From 1 October 2012, SAS will follow this practice by introducing a surcharge for tickets paid by credit card. This fee can be avoided by using forms of payment other than credit card - e.g. company account with Sterling Travel Management. Contact us to open account today.
The surcharge is called Optional Payment Charge (OPC) and will apply regardless of sales channel and only when the SAS card acceptance agreement (Merchant agreement) is used.
The Optional Payment Charge (OPC) level for point of sale United Kingdom will be a fixed amount per collected ticket:
- 4.50 GBP (Scandinavia domestic, intra Scandinavia, Europe)
- 4.50 GBP (Intercontinental)
