Flights to and from Portugal are being disrupted by a series of strikes by Portuguese air traffic controllers over the next few days.
The walkouts are being staged over three two-hour periods on both Thursday and Friday (17/18 May) with stoppages planned between 07.00-09.00, 14.00-16.00 and 21.00-23.00 local time on both days. More industrial action is scheduled next week on 24 May and 25 May.
Airlines, including TAP, Easyjet and Ryanair, have cancelled some services while others have been retimed to avoid the strike periods. British Airways has also rescheduled some flights between the UK and Portugal over the next two days.
Baggage handling agents at Porto airport are also due to go on strike on May 18 which is likely to cause more disruption. Easyjet is advising passengers travelling through the airport to check-in online and go directly through to departures.
