Virgin Atlantic - Termination of Narita helicopter transfer service

With immediate effect Virgin Atlantic will no longer be able to accept new bookings on their complimentary Narita Helicopter service for Upper Class passengers, due to their helicopter provider withdrawing the service.

If a passenger has an existing reservation for this service, their bookings will be honoured. Virgin Atlantic will continue to offer both the complimentary chauffeur driven car service and the Narita Express in Tokyo.

Tokyo helicopter transfer service

From 1 November 2010, passengers travelling in Upper Class and entitled to a chauffeur driven car can utilise a helicopter transfer service when travelling in and out of Tokyo central.

When transfering to Tokyo central passengers will be picked up and taken to the heli pad by Virgin Atlantic's chauffeur driven car service. The helicopter will take passengers into Tokyo central and a final chauffeur driven car will then take them on to their final destination. The transfer is also available when travelling to Narita airport.

The total journey time is 30 minutes with a flight time of 11 minutes.

Virgin Atlantic are the only airline to offer this service to passengers travelling in Business Class.

Who is entitled to the helicopter transfer service?
All Upper Class passengers who hold a ticket booked in J, D or R class.

What is the baggage allowance when using the helicopter service?
The helicopter has limited space for baggage and therefore passengers can either take one checked bag with a maximum weight of 32kg (the total dimensions H x W x D must not exceed 158cms) or one checked bag and one piece of hand luggage (45cm x 35cm x 20cm) with a maximum combined weight of 32kgs.

How many passengers can the helicopter accommodate?
A maximum of 4 passengers. Please note that passenger weights will be required in order to book this service.
