With effect from 21 March 2017, the UK Government has introduced new security requirements for cabin baggage on direct flights from the following countries to the UK:
- Saudi Arabia
All travellers on direct flights from these destinations will not be able to carry laptops, tablets or larger mobile phones in their cabin baggage.
Only mobile phones smaller than the following dimensions will be allowed in the cabin:
Length: 16cm x Width: 9.3cm x Depth: 1.5cm
Travellers should either not travel with these larger items or check them into their hold luggage.
In addition, the UK government has announced certain items known as peripheral devices (which can be attached to a laptop, tablet or larger mobile phone) are also subject to new security requirements.
Please refer to the UK Department for Transport’s website for more information about what peripheral devices and other items can be transported. Please be aware that some peripheral devices will not be allowed on board the aircraft at all.
