Birmingham International Airport will enjoy enhanced connections to long-haul destinations when Qatar Airways begins a daily service from the airport next month and Turkish Airlines increases the frequency of its flights to Istanbul.
Qatar Airways will depart Birmingham eight times a week from 30 March to its hub at Doha, with a double-daily service on Saturdays. The service will operate with a Boeing 787.
Flights will depart Birmingham at 09:15 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and 15:00 on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Turkish Airlines will increase services from 12 to 13 flights a week from 27 March and go twice-daily to Istanbul from 30 May.
The Qatar Airways services will operate with a two-cabin, 254-seat Dreamliner with 22 seats in Business class and extensive connections on from Doha.
Turkish Airlines offers connecting flights from Istanbul to destinations including Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, New Delhi, Mumbai, Jakarta, Cape Town and Johannesburg.
